The San Francisco Digital Services Team is transforming how residents interact with the city by building services designed around the people that use them. Led by the Chief Digital Services Officer, the team is comprised of product managers, designers, business analysts, developers, and content strategists. Four fundamental principles guide our task: put the needs of residents first, focus on delivery and outcomes over process, promote an agile and data driven culture, and make City services accessible to everyone. We have some exciting and high-profile products in our pipeline, including re-building the city’s website from the ground up, affordable housing applications, and registering new cannabis businesses.
In these roles, you'll help change culture and practices, as well as roll your sleeves up for hands-on work on the development, operation, and ongoing improvement of complex digital services. As a member of this new team, you’d have an opportunity to shape the City’s approach to digital services.
We are looking for an expert product manager to lead multi-disciplinary development of new user-focused digital services. While the products you work on may vary, our team is currently working on services that help people find affordable housing, start a business, find work, register as a cannabis business, find a pro-bono lawyer for immigration help, and more. As a Digital Services PM you’ll help manage stakeholders and the product team around common goals, manage delivery using disciplined agile methodology, and ensure that analytics and feedback are used to improve the product. You’ll also be a champion for user needs, improving business processes, and cutting bureaucratic red tape. Successful candidates will have leadership experience on agile product teams.
We are seeking an experienced content designer. You'll be responsible for writing clear, simple, approachable language for transactional public services, including participating in user research to iteratively improve the content.
We are seeking an experienced user researcher for project-based work. You'll be responsible for organizing, conducting, and synthesizing user research with the public and city staff to inform the development of digital services.
We’re growing the digital services team that operates and iteratively improves the affordable housing service (housing.sfgov.org), as well as the Salesforce implementation used to manage larger affordable housing operations. Funded by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD), the team is also part of the San Francisco Digital Services Team. Candidates must be ready to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team. You’ll help improve the affordable housing application product, expand MOHCD’s digital services to meet additional needs of housing applicants, and also collaborate closely with the program team to rethink all service channels in order to streamline the applicant experience.
We are looking for an expert product manager to join the housing digital services team. As the product manager you will coordinate a multi-disciplinary development effort to build new user-focused digital services for affordable housing. You’ll help manage stakeholders and the product team around common goals, manage delivery using disciplined agile methodology, and ensure that analytics and feedback are used to improve the product. You’ll also be a champion for user needs, improving business processes, and cutting bureaucratic red tape. Successful candidates will have leadership experience on agile product teams.
We are seeking an outstanding, experienced senior full-stack engineer to help iteratively improve the affordable housing application service at housing.sfgov.org, as well as build new services to meet the needs of affordable housing seekers. Candidates must have strong skills in frontend and backend web development.
We are seeking an outstanding, experienced senior Salesforce developer and technical architect to help operate, improve, and expand the Salesforce implementation that is used to manage the workflow for the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development. Candidates must have strong skills in Salesforce development, including building an API for external users.
We are looking for an expert designer with broad experience with UX, UI, and visual design to join the new housing digital services team. As the housing team’s designer you will have an important role in continuing to uphold the high design bar we have set on housing.sfgov.org over the last two years. You will help lead user research, produce prototypes and designs, work closely with front-end developers.
